The question is not whether or not you can drive in Berlin, but why would you. The question is paramount especially when you compare the rising cost of fuel and the heavy taxes placed on car emissions by the Berlin Government (refer to “other tax” for more information) to the exceptionally reliable, affordable and expansive public transport system.
However, in saying this, navigating the roads in Berlin is generally easy. Despite some congestion within the centre and the major thoroughfares, the roads and traffic conditions are overall highly acceptable for a large metropolis.
