Car Insurance Guide
There are a range of insurance options available, including comprehensive, which depending on your insurance company and what extras you take out, provides coverage for all contingencies. The amount you pay will be determined by where you live, your age, age of the car, how long you’ve been driving, and other factors. Expect to pay around $600 annually for a mid range vehicle. Whatever insurance you decide on, Third Party Insurance is compulsory for all vehicles in NSW. This is called a Green Slip. You cannot register your car without a Green Slip. The cost will depend on your vehicle, your age, your driving history and the insurance policy. The NSW Roads and Traffic Authority website has a Green Slip calculator. (Approx $400 for a year).
