Social Security Number Guide

You do not need a French social security number in order to open a bank account, rent an apartment, or to apply for a job.

French social security numbers are used particularly for the health system. Your employer must ask for one on your behalf. Contact the Human Resources department at your work for more information.

01 Once you have found a good bakery in your neighborhood, visit regularly. They are institutions and offer interesting information about the local area.
02 The ‘3 plans par arrondissement’ is by far the best local map, and so compact that it takes up little space in a bag.
