Houston has a great number of professional sports teams that command a vast following of fans in the city. There are the Houston Texans, a NLF football team, the Astros, a major league baseball team, the Rockets, a NBA basketball team, the Dynamo, a MLS soccer team, and the Aeros, a NHL ice hockey team. Events are held at the Reliant Stadium (football), Minute Maid Park (baseball), Toyota Center (basketball and ice hockey) and currently the UH sports arena (soccer).

There are many other sport events going on in Houston as well, for example tennis, golf and cricket. Houston also hosts marathons, rodeos, Supercross, Monster Jam and many other.

For live events, most of the tickets in Houston can be purchased through Ticketmaster or online from the team’s website or directly at the venue but possibly at a higher price and with the risk that good seats are taken. Ticketmaster is a great source for any current event going on and also has a list of current sports events that are only hosted in Houston on an annual basis, such as the Houston Rodeo, Supercross, Monster Jam, etc. which are held for example at Reliant Park and other facilities.
