Public Schools in Dubai
All schools in Dubai are governed by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the government agency responsible for the provision of education in the Dubai emirate. Full-time education is compulsory for children older than 5 and free education in government schools is provided for all local Emirati children. However, many local Emiratis choose to send their children to private or international schools as they are of the opinion that you get what you pay for.
It is important to note that expatriates are not allowed to send their children to these schools. Instead, they have to pay to send their children to private schools or, more typically, international schools.
