For regular and one-off children’s activities, the best place to look is the “Kids” section of Time Out Delhi, a fortnightly listings magazine covering Delhi and its environs.

Most schools offer extracurricular activities. Depending on their interest, you can choose private tutors (look in the newspaper classifieds under ‘education’ or ask around in expat circles) to give piano lessons (can be as much as $22 per hour), ballet and jazz (approx $7 a lesson at the American Embassy School) or you can enrol your children in hobby classes and activities happening in your neighbourhood. The park located near India Gate has large, well-maintained lawns and is a good place to enjoy an evening with children. The park has a number of swings, good play areas, and even an aquarium.
