There’s a broad variety of long-term housing options in Hanoi–from weathered colonial villas to modern high-rise apartments, and everything in between. Locations are equally diverse, from the teeming city center to a calm suburb at the edge of a lake. Traffic can be abominable during morning and evening rush hours, so it’s a good idea to minimize your commute by choosing a location as close as possible to work and (for students and those with children) schools. Housing agents provide excellent services, so you don’t have to become an expert on the city’s real estate to find the right place for your budget and taste.
