Barcelona natives are a stylish bunch, and looking good is a priority. The maintenance involved can be extensive; the locals definitely spend time and money on their appearance. Manicures, regular hair styling and designer clothes are the earmarks of the Barcelona set, although with a multicultural population you won´t look too out of place if you are in certain parts of town and prefer to wear slouch pants and Birkenstocks.
It can be difficult to find English-speaking beauticians outside of major hotels that have in-house beauty services. Prices tend to be well advertised and a combination of mime and photo clippings from magazines (if you are booking a haircut) will cover you in almost all cases.

The Bliss Spa, located in the newly opened W Hotel Barcelona, has become one of the city’s most sought-after spas. With a full array of Bliss’ famous treatments and staff that has been trained States-side, you really can’t go wrong with booking an appointment here. Just know that prices tend to be on the expensive side but the treatment you will receive from the English-speaking staff, as well as the beautiful locker rooms and array of goodies that await you in this urban sanctuary are well worth it!

Pink Peony
The Pink Peony calls itself a “NYC” style salon and rightfully so. With two excellent locations, spacious American-style facilities and a variety of services (waxing, eyelash tinting, massage and nail treatments) the salons are very good. Especially if you are looking for an English-speaking nail salon, this is one of the best places to go to for your treatments. Its founder, Peony Herrera Sy is an expat herself.
