Social Networks

Members of most expat clubs are very helpful to new members and will help you settle in and experience India’s rich culture and heritage. There are mixed groups of expats from several countries and membership with any of the local expats groups provides wonderful opportunities for making new friends from all over the world. For example, enjoy a cup of coffee on Thursday mornings hosted by OWC at the Leela Palace Hotel.

Other regular meeting activities:

Some countries have chambers of commerce with local events occasionally held in Bangalore. This can be an excellent avenue for meeting peers and business counterparts. Also refer to the above Foreign Cultural Centres section, since many of these organizations host a variety of events.

Volunteering

Bangalore has a great many NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) helping those in need and there are ample opportunities for expat members to become involved in voluntary work. Information on these charities and organizations is available from the sources listed below:

Initially, you may want to volunteer through the OWC Charities Committee which meets once a month to coordinate the funding of a group of charitable organizations based in Bangalore.
