Public Transportation Guide Delhi

Delhi has an improving public transport system, although it’s still shoddy by international standards. The buses are generally overcrowded and uncomfortable, and few expats take these. The metro is a lot better–it’s still crowded, but it’s faster and safer than buses. Green and yellow autorickshaws (golf cart-like mini taxis known elsewhere as tuktuks) are easy to hail off the street. Taxis are a bit less common and it’s usually easier to call a radio cab and have it sent rather than try to get one off the street. Bicycle rickshaws are common in certain neighborhoods and are good for short distances. For further information on each of these modes of transport, see the following sections.
