There are good appliance, electronic and hardware stores around Brussels, but the prices can often be quite expensive when compared to other European countries, and certainly more so than the United States. The selection is extensive, however, and prices can vary between shops. Usually the best prices for quality brand names can be found at the larger stores, though there are smaller shops around the city that sell less recognized name electronics and appliances for lower prices. Beware, though, that there is no guarantee on the quality. Stores like these can be found walking near Brussels South and North stations.
